A. Field
A.1 Field Size and Design
A.1.1 The field size is 50 feet wide by 100 feet long enclosed net field.
A.1.2 The game field will be balanced.
A.2 Field Officiating
A.2.1 Each match will be staffed by a minimum of 2 field judges and one supreme judge.
A.2.2 Two field judges will carry hand held chronographs.
B. Officiating
B.1 The Standards
B.1.1 The judges will be up to date on all of the latest rules and regulations in this rule book.
B.1.2 The judges will make decisions and perform duties in an unbiased manner. If this does not happen, that judge will be removed from his or her duties for the rest of the tournament.
B.1.3 The judges will wear a judge’s uniform so they will stand out. The supreme judge will wear a uniform to show his authority.
B.1.4 Judges will not reveal or conceal locations of players during the match.
B.1.5 judges will not impede the progress of the match.
B.2 The Match
B.2.1 The sides for the first match will be determined by a coin toss before the match begins.
B.2.2 The supreme judge will start the matches. The match will start with a signal that both sides can hear.
B.2.3 The supreme judge will end the match with a “Game Over” followed by a signal. Exp. Horn sound.
B.2.4 In the event an emergency should arise any judge can and will stop the match a long with the game clock.
B.2.5 All players will stay in their place until told to other wise.
B.2.6 If the arena needs to be cleared the judges will note the position of the players so they can be place back in their position at the restart of the match.
B.2.7 The match will restart only if the cause of the stop in play has been resolved.
B.3 Hand Signals
B.3.1 The judge will signal player out by pointing at the
player and giving the out sign. (baseball)
B.3.2 Once a player is signaled out he or she may not be placed back on the field.
B.3.3 The judge will signal a player safe by waving both arms in front of their body.
B.3.4 The judge will signal a paint check by waving his or her hand in the air.
C. Equipment
C.1 Clothing
C.1.1 Each player may wear only one layer of underclothing consistent with the weather of the day of all but extreme cold weather.
C.1.2 Each player may wear only one pair of paints and one long sleeve shirt over their underclothing, as long as the outer garments are not the same color as the judges uniforms or field paint. Shirts will be tucked in to their paints or harness.
C.1.3 Each player must wear tight fitting paints and jersey. Their will be not oversized clothing aloud, the judge will deem if the clothing is oversized.
C.1.4 If a judge deems clothing is oversized, the player must find more suitable clothing to wear.
C.1.5 Players may not wear clothing made from absorbent material.
C.1.6 Players will not be aloud to wear jewelry or clothing injure equipment or players.
C.1.7 Players can wear one pair of glove with or with out fingers.
C.2 Protective Equipment
C.2.1 Players must wear goggles made for the sole purpose of playing paintball. Goggles must meet or exceed ASTM Standard F1776.
C.2.2 Players must wear full head and face protection that is part of the goggle system.
C.2.3 All head gear and goggles must be approved by the judges before the match.
C.2.4 Players may wear shin, knee, forearm and elbow protection. The protection may not be modified in any way. This may be worn over or under your clothing.
C.2.5 Players may wear groin protection and females may wear breast protection.
C.2.6 Players may not wear outer clothing colored pink or green.
C.2.7 Pink and green are reserved for field paint colors.
C.3 Markers
C.3.1 Markers must fire in simi-auto only. No double action triggers will be allowed
C.3.2 Markers with external velocity adjusters must be modified so the velocity adjuster is not easily accessible during the match.
C.3.3 Players can wear a remote hookup; the remote line will not be worn under clothing.
C.3.4 Players may not bring extra barrels on to the field
C.3.5 All markers will be checked by the judge before the match
C.3.6 Neoprene and cloth may not be used to cover marker or hoppers. Neoprene or cloth may be used as tank covers.
C.3.7 All markers must have an ASTM approved barrel blocking device.
C.3.8 No pink or green stickers will be aloud on the markers. As per C.2.7
C.3.8 Barrel blocking device must be installed unless in the arena or in the chronograph station.
C.4 Other Equipment
C.4.1 Players may carry any number of pouches, clips, loaders, tubes or pods.
C.4.2 Pouches, vest and harnesses worn on to the field may not be used as padding, only for the sole purpose of carrying extra paint.
C.4.3 Players can carry multiple swabs and or squeegees. Players may carry anti-fog cloths.
C.4.4 Only live players may exchange equipment.
C.5 Prohibited Equipment
C.5.1 Prohibited equipment includes listening devices, communication devices and any form of electronic surveillance device, incendiary devices, smoke producing devices. Any team found using prohibited equipment will be removed from the tournament and receive no points.
C.6 Paintballs
C.6.1 Only field paint purchased day of the tournament will be allowed.
D. Game Procedures
D.1 Chronographing
D.1.1 Players are responsible for chronographing their markers. All markers must be at or below 280 fps.
D.1.2 Judges may chronograph player’s markers before the match.
D.1.3 If the judge finds a marker to exceed the field limit the player may change marker, change player and marker or play with out marker, which ever time permits.
D.1.4 All markers will be chronographed after the match by a judge.
D.1.5 If a marker is found to exceed 280 fps then that team will forfeit the next game and receive a loss.
D.2 Game Time
D.2.1 Each match will be 2/5 min.
D.2.2 Teams will switch sides after each match.
D.2.3 The match will end with elimination of the last player on a team or the 2/5 min expires.
D.2.4 If the game time expires and all players are still in, the match goes to sudden death match.
D.2.5 If the match time expires and it is an even number of players, then the team with the first player eliminated is declared the loser.
D.2.6 The final match will end when all members of a team have been eliminated.
D.3 Eliminations
D.3.1 If a player is hit with a paintball that has been shot out of a marker leaving a quarter size paint mark on their person or equipment they are eliminated.
D.3.2 If a player is found with prohibited equipment on the field they will be eliminated.
D.3.3 If a player does not obey a judge’s orders or is found to be avoiding the judge will be eliminated
D.3.4 If a player engages in un-sportsman like conduct or is playing with intent to injure another person they will be eliminated.
D.3.5 Players must exit the arena upon elimination with all the equipment they were carrying at the time of elimination.
D.3.6 After elimination the player must give their marker to a judge to be chronographed.
D.4 Forfeits
D.4.1 If a team fails to report to a match in a timely manner they will forfeit the match. If both teams fail to report in a timely manner both teams will receive a loss.
D.4.2 After a team has declared a forfeit the game will not be played.
D.4.3 All entry fees of the forfeiting team will not be refunded.
D.5 Penalties
D.5.1 Wiping
D.5.1.1 Wiping is the deliberate removal of a mark by a player in order to avoid elimination.
D.5.1.2 If a player is found wiping they will be eliminated and a 1 for 1 penalty will be asset.
D.5.2 Interference
D.5.2.1 Spectators of the match may not interfere with the match in any way. This includes but is not limited to giving instructions, giving away positions of players, or making comments about the play in the arena.
D.5.2.2 Eliminated players are considered to be spectators. If they interfere in any way a 1 for 1 penalty will be asset.
D.5.3 Assessment of Warnings and Penalties
D.5.3.1 Judges will give a verbal warning for the following.
a. Player not using a barrel sock/plug.
b. First offense of inappropriate language.
c. First offense of blind firing.
D.5.3.2 Players will be eliminated for the following.
a. Second offense of not using a barrel sock/plug.
b. Second offense of inappropriate language.
c. Second offense of blind firing.
d. Failure to have foot in start point
e. Not wearing eye protection.
f. Player caught wiping.
D.5.3.3 Players will be eliminated and removed from the event.
a. Avoiding or ignoring the judges
b. Not following the cease fire command.
c. Marker exceeding 280 fps.
d. Wiping
e. Unsportsmanlike like conduct and or inappropriate behavior.
