Tournament Description
For the 2007 season, we have re-structured our tournament brackets. This year, there will be 3 levels of play: Rookie & Below, Above Rookie, and Young Guns. This was done to make tournaments more competitive on all levels of play and to challenge players to bring their best game to each and every tournament to improve their game and give them a broader range of tournament opponents.
ROOKIE & BELOW tournaments will encompass what was formerly the "Newbie" level. This is the beginner level for players starting in paintball, or trying to determine if they wish to pursue playing competitive tournament grade events. The point at this level is to expose players to like-level competition, and give them the necessary experience for them to improve their game and move up to higher level competition.
YOUNG GUNS tournaments will be run exactly as they have in the past. Any experience level is welcome, however you MUST be 16 years old or younger (no younger than 10 years old) to participate.
ABOVE ROOKIE tournaments are for those who have tournament experience, and wish to challenge themselves with local (and sometimes not local) opponents. This is for the higher end players that are looking for events to hone their communication and position play for larger tournament venues such as PSP or NPPL.
Please note that these levels do NOT reflect PSP or NPPL levels. A "Rookie" at either of these rankings would play in the the Above Rookie classification at HawgPaint events.
These tournaments are hosted to give everyone an opportunity to participate in affordable tournament play and gain the experience they are looking for. Whether that experience is a fun, competitive Sunday with some friends, looking only to gain memories, or if it is in preparation for moving on to higher level national events, HawgPaint strives to have a level of play for everyone to enjoy.
Tournament Prizes
2007 tournaments will have trophy prizes only. This was done to keep costs down for players, and to hopefully allow more players to play more tournaments and gain more experience (and have more fun)!
